Tips To Avoid Damage to Your Supplies During Shipment

We're saddened when we receive supplies that are damaged when we open the shipping box, but most of the time, the damage could have been easily avoided if the supplies had been packed well.

Please note postal and shipping carriers throw your boxes around all day when moving them from location to location. Please pack them well, as they are valuable to both you and us!

Here are some tips to avoid damage in transit:

  • Select a sturdy box (no envelopes, Amazon boxes - they are too thin, cereal boxes, tissue boxes, etc.)

  • Put all your supplies back to back in the center of your box, so they are all touching and there are no spaces between each supply.

  • Fill the rest of the box with packing materials all the way to the top so there are no empty spaces inside the box.

  • For DEXCOM supplies, we especially recommend bubble-wrapping (or foam-wrapping) them so they do not bump against your other supplies during transit.

  • Seal the box tightly with sticky tape to ensure all sides are sealed tightly.

  • Shake the box to make sure nothing moves inside (if they move around, unpack the box and try again until nothing moves)

Here is an example of a very well packed box with packing materials to protect from damage during transit.
